Mark Harmon, known for his role as Leroy Jethro Gibbs on NCIS, left the show two years ago after nearly two decades but remains busy. He continues as an executive producer on the show and has delved into various roles, including becoming an author.
In November, he will release his first historical nonfiction book, “Ghosts of Honolulu: A Japanese Spy, a Japanese American Spy Hunter, and the Untold Story of Pearl Harbor.” This book delves into the true story of Douglas Wada, a Japanese American spy for the U.S. Navy, and his rivalry with Japanese spy Takeo Yoshikawa. It also sheds light on the birth of the real NCIS. Despite stepping away from acting, Mark’s new project keeps his ties to NCIS, and he appreciates the freedom to pursue different interests. Mark Harmon resides in California with his wife, actress Pam Dawber.
