Pam Dawber, wife of NCIS star Mark Harmon, finally appeared on the show as journalist Marcie Warren on the April 6 episode. While the show had attempted to cast her in the past, she always declined due to various reasons. Dawber, who took a step back from acting to focus on raising her children, found the role compelling and agreed to join NCIS, but with one condition – no romantic interest with Gibbs.
In her role as Marcie, Dawber’s character is an investigative journalist looking into Gibbs’ indefinite suspension. Despite initial nerves and anxiety about appearing on TV, Dawber successfully filmed four episodes. However, she mentioned avoiding watching the episodes on DVD to avoid reminders of aging. Dawber, now 69, jokingly refers to her graying hair as “C0V1D 19 platinum.”
