The debut episode of NCIS, “Yankee White,” in 2003 introduced key elements of the show but also featured a highly improbable moment. In the episode, Gibbs miraculously avoids machine gun fire in a tight airplane corridor, which some viewers believe was far from realistic. If the show had chosen a different path, it could have altered the series dramatically.
Additionally, the pilot episode featured an inconsistency in Gibbs and Fornell’s relationship. While later episodes establish them as close friends, their initial meeting in the pilot suggests otherwise. This discrepancy can be attributed to the evolving nature of long-running TV series.
Despite these minor issues, NCIS continued to thrive, giving us the beloved series we cherish today.
